Maybe you think Real Estate Agents are a dime a dozen. They’re all the same. They can all schedule showings, open doors, show you houses and show you where to sign on the dotted line. But WAIT! Let me clear this up! You are absolutely right if you think there are a lot of us. There truly are. ‘

But I want to share 3 things that you probably don’t know about Real Estate Agents but I definitely think you should!

So fill up your coffee cup and join me in what I like to call a sneak peek into the life of a Real Estate Agent!

#1: WE DON’T GET PAID

• Let me be more specific… We don’t get paid to show homes up front. In fact, we don’t get paid until the keys have been given to the new homeowners and the funds have been wired.
• We show up for you and commit to you as your agent without a paycheck! But that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to work our butts off to help you find the house you love.
• But what I want you to understand is that it’s so much more than that.. we don’t just sit on MLS all day. We make phone calls, schedule showings, plan out the best routes, drive from house to house, talk to other agents, find out everything we can about the homes we show and the markets they’re in so we can educate our clients.
• We handle all of the paperwork – and yes it’s a lot! But we don’t want you to be overwhelmed so we walk you through step by step so you understand what the heck you’re signing.
• We schedule home inspections, find repair contractors to dig deeper into potential issues, we negotiate throughout the entire transaction and we keep you up to speed on the dates and deadlines to make sure you close on time.
• We communicate with your lender, the appraiser, the home inspector, the other agent, the home insurance company… the list goes on!
• It’s more than opening a door and showing you a house. And sometimes, we do this more than once.. maybe a transaction falls apart… Then it’s back to square one. But we absolutely love every second of it! We want to have your back the entire way and then celebrate with you on closing day!

#2: We aren’t just a fly on the wall who just so happens to be following you around from house to house..

• We are FULLY invested. We are there to be your guide. To answer your questions, educate you about the market, help you see that hidden potential (or maybe the opposite).
• We want you to buy your home with confidence and feel like you have a trusted friend helping you through the process.
• We want you to send us photos after you move in to show us how you styled your living room, the bathroom you updated and the entertainment space you added.
• We want to stop over with a bottle of wine and a pizza after the closing day to celebrate WITH you! We care about our people beyond the sale and want to work with people who care about us too! Real Estate is about more than finding homes. It’s about building relationships!

#3: WE HAVE PINTEREST BOARDS TOO!

• We don’t get tired of looking at homes or home inspiration after we sell a 10 houses. Or even 100 houses.
• We have our own Pinterest boards and spend our free time (yes non- working time) looking at homes online.
• If I have clients looking for a fixer upper, I’ll share them before and after examples to help give them ideas! I’ll keep a list of what furniture I know is important to them to fit in their house and look for ways we can make it work!
• I’ll look outside of their MLS criteria to get other ideas or potentially find a hidden gem that they didn’t think to consider at first.
• We love being involved in this process and even when we’re not working, we’re still going full speed in one way or another. Need ideas for paint colors? We’ve got them! Need inspiration for how to turn a tiny nook into a functional space – I’ll find it! Want to know if it’s worth adding in that third bathroom or upgrading your countertops – I’ve got your back! And I’ll continue to be that resource even after you’re settled into your home!
